You will learn the principles of social life cycle assessment (S-LCA) and life cycle costing (LCC), to fully cover the teaching on the three pillars of sustainability presented within the 3 LIFE-C course modules. Within this module, the video lectures, presentations, and quizzes are aimed at providing a basic understanding of S-LCA and LCC with a corresponding assignment on the analysis of a specific S-LCA and LCC study.

In this course you will learn how to apply the LCA methodology to a real case study – the challenges. This module is oriented on practical application of LCA methodology, and requires basic skills and understanding of ISO 14040-14044 standards, presented in Module 1. What’s more, the practical applications of LCA methodology such as EPD, PEF, OEF, and advanced sensitivity and uncertainty assessment, are presented and discussed.

In this course you will learn about life cycle thinking and principles of the ISO 14040-14044 life cycle assessment methodology. with skills and learning outcomes based on the interpretation and understanding of the environmental impact assessment and life cycle assessment results. In this module, the students work is based on completing a series of quizzes based on video lectures and presentations, with final preparation of the assessment, being the critical review of an already existing LCA study.
